    The Doulton Sterasyl is a ceramic sediment filter. This cartridge filters down to 0.2 microns with a nominal rating of 0.5 microns. It is NSF certified materials or certified to the applicable NSF/ ANSI Standard 42, 51, 53, 58 or 61.     The ceramic is impregnated with silver to inhibit the growth of bacteria making it ideal for rural or tank water applications. The cartridge can also be cleaned over and over while maintaining its efficiency due to the tightly controlled complex ceramic pore structure providing unparalleled filtration properties. They will normally last for many years unless dropped, broken or completely blocked with very fine particles.

    The Sterasyl filters contain no carbon and therefore do not need to be changed every year. They are also unable to remove chlorine and other chemicals.
