What is an under sink water filter?

An under sink water filter is a system that’s installed in the cabinet or cupboard underneath the sink. It connects to your cold water supply and uses a series of filter cartridges to purify the water before it comes out of the tap.

How do under sink water filters work?

An under sink water filter connects directly to your cold water supply undersink. Utilising either a single stage filter or multiple filters, the system will purify the water before sending it to a separate faucet, your existing mixer tap or a 3-way mixer tap. Once filtered, at no stage does the filtered water come into contact with your normal water supply.

Are under sink water filters worth it?

An under sink water filter system offers numerous benefits, including:

    • It saves valuable countertop space by fitting under your sink for convenience.

    • Targeted filtration that allows you to treat water in specific rooms in your home, instead of using a whole-house filter.

    • Aesthetically discreet with its position out of sight, with only a smaller faucet addition.

    • You have options to choose the level of filtration that you desire.

How often should I change an under sink water filter?

The frequency you should change the filter will depend on several factors:

    • Where they are being used: commercial or residential

    • Type of under sink filter: reverse osmosis or sediment and carbon block filter

    • Water usage volume: how much the filter is used every day

    • Water quality: how hard or contaminated the water is

In commercial settings, we recommend changing the filter every three to six months, while residential filters at home can be changed every six to 12 months.
